Emigrating to Poland as a critical life experience

Abstract

The goal of the article is to present the process of emigrating to Poland as a critical experience in the lives of the moving units. The publication presents results of own research conducted with migrants living in Poland. They show that changing the place of residence constituted for the interviewed people a significant emotional event because it resulted in many difficulties in their lives and forced the migrants to search for new methods of facing them. The foreigners have managed to deal with the migration difficulties which had an impact on their development and making the decision to stay in Poland for longer.
