Doctor in view of procreation. Selected issues of the Code of Medical Ethics

Abstract

The Code of medical ethics refers to the unique sphere of medical activity of a doctor, namely to procreation. The chapter „Procreation” includes three provisions that complement the general principles of the physician's behavior towards the patient. These provisions have been the subject of analysis of this article. There is no doubt that the activities of the physician in relation to the patient, in connection with the transmission of life should be performed within the framework of the standard of due and highest professional care. Especially in this case the doctor is responsible for the life and health of the mother and for the life and health of the conceived child.
