Abstract
The purpose of the article and the study was to determine what is the correlation between communication spouses and their assessment of the quality of marriage. It was decided to see whether and what types of communication (support, committed and depreciating spouse communication) affect the following dimensions of quality of marriage: intimacy, self-realization, similarity, disappointment. The study used two methods: The Questionnaire of a Well-chosen Marriage by M. Plopy and J. Rostowski and The Marital Communication Questionnaire by M. and M. Plopy Kazimierczak. They examined 89 married people. The results showed that the quality of marriage is perceived as higher if the spouse assesses both himself and his spouse as more supportive and involved in communication and less depreciating. Thus, the quality of the relationship is seen as lower if your spouse assesses both himself and his spouse as less supportive and involved, and more depreciating.
