Abstract
Nature is sensitive to human interventions. They often result in social conflicts. The dilemmas that emerge in this context require explanations. The aim of this article is to show the usefulness of dialogue in the process of making people aware of the essence of these dilemmas. For this reason, we first review the notion of dialogue and the features that characterise this process. The proposed definition of dialogue takes account of its specific role in the understanding of nature conservation. After indicating the meaning of activities undertaken to protect nature, despite emerging dilemmas, the usefulness of dialogue is indicated as a tool for explaining the causes and essence of the dilemmas.
