Development of children's ecological awareness in "Płomyk" in the II Republic of Poland

Abstrakt

The purpose of this article is to explain how the children's ecological awareness was built in Poland in the period between the two world wars (1918-1939) on the example "Płomyk", a periodical, issued in Warsaw since 1917. The Ministry of Religions and Public Enlightenment approved the periodical as fit for school use. This article has an analytical structure and also (in the framework of particular parts of the subject work) a chronological order. Therefore the basic source is the "Płomyk" periodical (for the years 1918-1939), the Official Gazette of the Ministry of Religions and Public Enlightenment (1918-1939) and scientific works concerning the issue of ecological awareness.
