Abstrakt
This article is a summary of considerations related to caring for human life. The subject is based on the suicide phenomenon, therefore suicide in the civilization of the 21st century. The authors present the foundations of the meaning of life as a buffer against attempts to assassinate their own lives. The possibilities of realizing their life needs and intangible assets have been shown. Existentialists point to the possibility of finding happiness in: love, fulfilling assumed dreams and striving for or appreciating life after experiencing difficult events. The article discusses the philosophical, psychological and health factors related to suicide, as well as the trap of the modern world, focused on consumption and material goods. The final part of the article discusses the possibilities of prevention, intervention and seeking support for people at risk and suicidal tendencies. An important issue is also the possibility of taking advantage of prophylaxis, actions and events related to the activities of the Polish Suicidological Society in Poland.
