While functioning in a marriage, people undertake two types of activities: protective and transgressive. Protective measures are efforts to overcome the current problems, leading to the preservation of relative stability. The second type, the transgressive act, involves the intentional going beyond everyday reality of marriage and doing something new or in a new way. The couple wants to make a difference in their relationship and they expect it to improve, deepen, but they also take a risk, which may make it worse than it is now. The more transgressive actions spouses take, the more opportunity they have to get know each other and experience the joy of being a community in which they want to participate. The success
