Abstrakt
The debate on freedom of conscience has a particular importance. It refers to
a unique law. It concerns to possibility of freely presenting own and essential beliefs. These issues - for many years - also refer to activities undertaken by medical professionals: especially doctors. In this context, it is noted that the physician has the right to refrain from certain actions that are incompatible with his or her system of values. It can use the Conscience clause. In recent years this topic has been addressed not only by academics but also by the media and the courts. They dealt with issues relating to the ability to refrain from activities incompatible with conscience. In similar aspects, is returned the subject of doctor faith. There are situations in which doctors are criticized for admitting to their own faith due to lack of acceptance for specific activities. In this context, some communities suggests that professional medical / professional doctor can not refer to the practice in his own religion. He must only based on evidence. Can we agree with a similar view in times when freedom of conscience and religion is guaranteed by constitutional law? It is also worth to consider: Is medicine able to function without an element of faith? Is it possible to separate the phenomenon of human suffering from the mystical context? Does guiding the faith of a physician in his work contradict the idea of professionalism?
