Abstrakt
The purpose of this article is to determine possible differences between the image of the family
of origin regarding persons brought up in complete families and teenagers brought up in families without one of the biological parents.The main problem is as follows: whether and in what way the evaluation of the family of origin is different in adolescents in the period of late adolescence brought up in families of a complete and incomplete structure? The research has been carried out on the basis of a diagnostic survey with the use of a survey questionnaire allowing to obtain essential details on the questioned persons and the Family Evaluation Scale – Polish adaptation of FACES-IV by D.H. Olson, prepared by A. Margasiński. The review of research, referring to the functioning of adolescents brought up in families of a different structure taking into consideration the consequences of being brought up in incomplete families, has been carried out in the article. The empiric part has been devoted to verification of hypothesis on differences in perceiving the family of origin by women and men in the period of late adolescence brought up in complete and incomplete families. The research results confirm that teenagers from incomplete families perceive their families as more chaotic, disengaged and enmeshmed than their peers brought up in complete families. Statistically important differences in the evaluation of communication in a family and general satisfaction from functioning of a family system have not been found. Differences between women and men brought up in complete families are revealed in the scope of disengagement, enmeshment, chaos and communication between men and women from incomplete families however – only in the rigidity scale.
