Abstract

It was tried to determine what are the experiences of socially maladjusted men in terms of using and providing commercial sexual services and if they differ from the experiences of men population all around Poland. 1048 persons were interviewed (eighteen-year-old students of Polish Voluntary Labour Corps and prisoners). As a method there was used a diagnostic survey. It was alleged, that both using and providing sexual services by socially maladjusted men are pheomena that very often occur in subculture groups and are widely acceptable. The research revealed that 10.5% of the OHP students and 9% of the prisoners had experienced providing sexual services (over 3% on the premises of the correctional facility). 9% of the boys (OHP students) and 42% of the interviewed prisoners declared having used commercial sexual services. Comparison analyses with Izdebski’s research on men population all around Poland showed that participation of socially maladjusted persons in sex business is dozen times higher.
