Abstract
Extreme sport can be defined as all disciplines that involve considerable risk and require above-average mental and physical skills. Athletes who decide to engage in high-risk activities are motivated by various internal and external factors. However, in most cases, the lives of their families are marked by constant fear for their life and health. On the other hand, too frequent training may lead to addiction, which is often difficult to notice and underestimated, and at the same time significantly translates into the daily functioning of the family system, whose individual units form an integral structure.
