Abstrakt

Depresja poporodowa to jedno z najczęściej występujących zaburzeń poporodowych. Dotyka ona aż 7-30% kobiet na świecie, a aż do 80% kobiet cierpi na zaburzenia nastroju w okresie poporodowym. Do czynników ryzyka wystąpienia depresji poporodowej przyczynia się w znacznej mierze stres, depresja w ciąży i brak wsparcia społecznego. Natomiast odporność psychiczna, a z nią wysokie poczucie własnej wartości, może być czynnikiem ochronnym przed depresją poporodową. Związek między karmieniem piersią a depresją poporodową jest bardzo silny. Krótsze karmienie piersią może być zapowiedzią depresji poporodowej, natomiast wystąpienie depresji poporodowej może skrócić czas karmienia piersią dziecka.
