Abstrakt

We współczesnym świecie możemy zauważyć tendencje do odwlekania decyzji dotyczącej bycia rodzicem. Pojawia się pytanie, co tak naprawdę motywuje ludzi do wyboru roli rodzicielskiej i zwiększa ich satysfakcję z życia. Postanowiono sprawdzić związek między motywami rodzicielskimi a poczuciem sensu życia i dobrostanem oraz potencjalną rolę religijności w ich wzmocnieniu. W artykule omówiono teoretyczne aspekty motywów rodzicielskich, sensu życia, religijności, dobrostanu oraz ich wzajemne powiązania w dotychczasowych badaniach. W badaniu wzięło udział 248 osób w wieku od 19 do 63 lat. Postawiono trzy hipotezy badawcze: H1. Pozytywne motywy rodzicielskie korelują pozytywnie z poczuciem sensu życia i dobrostanem; H2. Centralność religijności pełni moderacyjną rolę w związku między pozytywnymi motywami rodzicielskimi a poczuciem sensu życia i dobrostanem oraz H3. Negatywne motywy rodzicielskie nie korelują istotnie z poczuciem sensu życia i dobrostanem. Pierwsza i trzecia hipoteza zostały częściowo potwierdzone. Osoby charakteryzujące się pozytywnymi motywami rodzicielskimi odczuwały wyższy poziom poczucia sensu, a centralność religijności pełniła moderacyjną rolę w tym związku. Druga hipoteza została potwierdzona. Badanie sugeruje, że religijność może być zasobem pozwalającym nadać znaczenie rodzicielstwu. W pracy wskazano na dalsze kierunki badań oraz implikacje praktyczne.
